Revenue Tracking captures financial flows from research grants — including overheads, industry collaboration income, royalties, and consultancy fees. Each revenue line is tied to a reporting period and department, with audited statement references for accountability.
Creating a Revenue Line
Navigate to Sustainability > Revenue Tracking
Click New Revenue Line
Select the Reporting Period and Department
Enter the Grant Label (short identifier)
Choose Scope (National or International)
Select Revenue Type (grant overhead, industry collaboration, royalty, consultancy, other)
Fill in financial amounts (funding approved/released, overhead approved/released)
Add the Audited Statement Reference if available
Save as Draft or Submit for ORIC review
Reviewing Revenue Lines (ORIC Staff)
Navigate to Sustainability > Review Revenue
Filter by status, period, or scope
Open a revenue line to view details and attachments
Click Begin Review to start the review process
Either Approve, Request Revision (with comments), or Reject
Approved lines can be Locked for the reporting period
Uploading Audited Statements
ORIC staff can attach audited financial statements as evidence for revenue lines:
Open the revenue line detail view
Click Upload Attachment
Select the file (PDF, Excel, or image formats accepted)
Set the attachment role to audited_statement
Upload — the file will be checksummed and access-controlled
Revenue Dashboard
The dashboard shows:
Total revenue lines by status (draft, submitted, approved, locked)
Total funding approved vs. released (national vs. international)
Total overhead approved vs. released
Revenue breakdown by department
Monthly revenue trends
